Welcome

Colchester and District Talking Newspaper provides local news and information, recorded onto memory sticks and distributed by post timed for arrival on or before each Saturday morning (subject to the Royal Mail delivery system). In addition to the newspaper a monthly audio magazine is also produced and distributed.

These recordings are prepared by volunteers for the benefit of blind and otherwise visually impaired people.
If required, we can supply a suitable player for our memory sticks to our listeners.

This is free of charge.

Our output is also available on-line, for both the Talking Newspaper, as well as our monthly audio magazine is available on the first weekend of every month. The memory stick for this will be sent out with the weekly newspaper memory stick.

You can use this website to find out about receiving the Talking News, referring a friend, relative or client to us, or volunteering with us.

The objective of the Colchester and District Talking Newspaper, a member of the Talking News Federation, is to provide visually impaired people with local, Colchester, news and information. Our source for the news is the The Daily Gazette, a newspaper produced in North-east Essex. The editor has given CDTN full copyright permission for its material to be used in this way.
